Rolling Bay Land Company’s office is a study in efficiency in both space and energy use. Nestled under a living green roof are features such as recycled denim insulation, a salvaged wood floor, and finishes of FSC Fir plywood.

One room of the compact 200 sq ft space transforms into a cozy guest cottage when a Murphy bed is pulled down. “I wanted a place that could easily accommodate guests, yet allow me to keep working,” says company owner Lisa Martin. Nestled under a living green roof are features such as a composting toilet, a salvaged wood floor, and finishes of FSC Fir plywood. Energy efficiency is enhanced by the use of denim insulation and passive solar design.
